As the leader of Carroll Technologies Group, Michael R. Hastings relies on his 30 plus years of experience in the mining industry.  Earlier in his career Mike served as the General Manager & Managing Director of a major mining equipment manufacturer and has filled other management roles at the VP and President level. Mike has worked with mining companies all over the globe, having travelled extensively for nearly the last 20 years. Mike graduated from Southwest Missouri University with a B.S. in Marketing Management and a minor in ROTC. Mike served in the United States Army as a Captain and he was a Liaison Officer for West Point Military Academy.  He has been married to his wife, Susan since 1970 and is a proud father of two and grandfather of two.  Mike has served as Vice President on several Chamber Boards, WVU Advisory Board, various church boards, and is a member of the West Virginia Coal Association, the Kentucky Coal Association, and the Rotary Club.

Clark Johnson is a 28 year veteran of Carroll Technologies Group, having joined Carroll Engineering Co. in 1981. Clark worked his way through the ranks, serving in many operational roles throughout his career which provides an excellent foundation for his leadership of the Carroll Engineering Co. operating subsidiary. Clark graduated from Eastern Kentucky University in 1973 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in the Social Sciences.  Clark has been married for 36 years to Betty L. Johnson and they have two children, Josh and Kristi as well as two grandchildren, Jayde and Nathan.  Clark is an active member and deacon at The Bible Church of Grays Knob, Ky.

Allen Haywood has over 30 years of experience in the mining industry, the last 20 with Carroll Engineering Co.  Allen was educated at Southeast Community College in Kentucky and has been married to his wife Peggy for over 28 years.  Allen and Peggy are proud parents of four children: Cassie, Seth, Josh and Sarah.  Allen is active in community and church activities, serving on the board of Putney Bible Church.  Previously Allen served as Chairman of the Board of Harlan County Christian School for 12 years.  Allen loves to golf and spend time outdoors hunting and fishing.

Tommy J. Bannister is a long time veteran of the mining industry, having over 25 years of service with  Delta Electric Inc.  Prior to his current role as President of Delta Electric, he formerly served as Sales Manager, General Manager and Vice President. Tom’s roots are embedded in the coal mining industry as he is the fourth generation of the Bannister family to work in the industry.

Tom himself is proud that he is a certified coal miner. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. He is a member of the Logan County Vendor Association, WV Coal Association, National Federation of Independent Business and Logan County Chambe of Commerce. Tom and his wife Kimberly Peyton Bannister are the parents of five children and have three beautiful grandchildren.


Phillip Bannister

Phillip Bannister brings years of experience in the mining industry.  Phil capitalizes on his degree in Electronic Engineering in his executive role with Delta Electric, a company he first began working for in 1985 as a student from Logan High.  Phillip has been a dedicated leader at Delta Electric since he returned to West Virginia in 1995.  He has been married to his wife, Becky for 12 years and they have 3 daughters: Grace, Faith, and Hope.


Greg WolfeGreg Wolfe, CPA

Chief Financial Officer

Greg joined Carroll Technologies Group in 2006 and has been involved in financial reporting, planning, analysis, and banking relations. Prior to joining Carroll, Greg worked in public accounting as an auditor and tax preparer. He graduated with honors from Lincoln Memorial University in Harrogate, TN with a double major in accounting and financial economics. Greg is a member of the Kentucky State Society of CPA's, and he has served as treasurer for various civic and church organizations. Greg is married with two children.
